Campings in Schotland zijn uitstekend geschikt voor een rondreis. Grote kans dat je tent, camper of caravan in de buurt van een kasteel staat. Schotland bestaat uit het noordelijk deel van Groot-Brittannië. Het land strekt zich uit, van de heuvelachtige landbouwgronden in het zuiden en oosten, naar de Hooglanden en eilanden in het westen. Bij deze eilanden wordt de rotsachtige kustlijn afgewisseld door prachtige stranden en ruige kale bergen. Deze bergen zijn verdeelt door glinsterende meren en diepe rivieren. De Engelsen en Schotten zelf zijn ook enthousiaste kampeerders. De campings in Schotland hebben er ook een hoog kwaliteitsgehalte. Sinds de koers van het pond aanmerkelijk is gedaald, zijn ook de kampeerplaatsen beter bezet. Veel Britten vinden de overtocht naar het vaste land te duur geworden en blijven nu kamperen in eigen land. En omdat bijna elke Brit wel lid is van de Caravanclub of de Camping & Caravanning Club zijn de kampeerplaatsen goed bezet. Het advies is daarom wel vooraf te reserveren.

Toeristische attracties rond de campings in Schotland

Schotland is de bakermat van golf en whisky en kent een rijke traditie. Denk aan bijvoorbeeld de festiviteiten van de clans,’s zomers in Edinburgh of in één van de vele Highland Games. Het land is een paradijs voor de liefhebber van het buitenleven: je gaat bij de campings in Schotland vissen, zeilen, wandelen of op zoek naar dieren in het wild. Maar er zijn nog meer attracties. Het land kent ook diverse kastelen welke zeker het bezoeken waard zijn. Een van de meeste bekende toeristische attracties is het meer van Loch Ness, waar men nog steeds op zoek kan naar het monster.
