Campsites in the region of Galicia
When you decide to camp on a campsite in Galicia during your holiday, you will find yourself in a very green area with often beautiful weather, but also a chance of rain. The campsites in Galicia are located in the far northwest of Spain, with a beautiful coastline with many rías (large sea coves, compare it with fjords).
Many campsites are located on the coast, where you can find a nice spot in the shade for a caravan or motorhome. From your lazy chair you can then prepare for the Spanish hospitality, nature and culture that can be found here. You can also make nice trips here, for example to a somewhat larger local city. Famous places in this part of Galicia are Bayona, Vigo, Sanxenxo, O Grove and La Toja. Would you rather stay at the campsite and still enjoy yourself? Well-known local wines are Alabariño from Ría Baixas, and Ribeiro (Ourense).
Visit Tourist Cities
The main cities in Galicia are Santiago de Compostela (terminus of the Pilgrim's Route), Vigo and La Coruña. Are you spending your camping holiday near these cities and do you have the chance to visit them? Then that is definitely recommended. The north and inland of Galicia are not very touristy, there is only limited tourism from Spaniards. The southern part of the coast (Rías Baixas) is somewhat busier but also mainly hosts domestic tourism. You can therefore still discover these areas by pitching a caravan or tent at a local campsite.
