Diverse landscape, ideal for cycling trips
Aquitaine is a large and versatile region on the southwest side of France. The region is bordered on the west side by the Atlantic Ocean and on the south side by the Spanish border in the Pyrenean mountain area. The flat Atlantic coast is known for its beautiful wide beaches with high waves in some places. Behind it is a wooded and fairly flat area that is very suitable for cycling trips.
The city of Bordeaux with vineyards
The region is divided into five regions; Gironde, Perigord-Quercy, Lot et Garonne, Landes and Pyrenées Atlantique. Bordeaux is the most important city in the department and famous for its wines and culture. Vineyards dating back to Roman times are located along the banks of the Garonne. And of course these vineyards are also accompanied by castles and wine chateaux.
