Camping De Roggeberg is a neat, albeit large, but also luxurious campsite and very well equipped. This makes it very suitable for families and groups. The campsite has many options for active guests. After a busy day, the campsite is also a nice place to relax, with a restaurant with a cozy terrace, a supermarket for essentials and a snack bar for a quick bite.

Don't have your own camping equipment or is it too difficult to go out with your own camping equipment for a weekend? No worries! Camping De Roggeberg has several types of accommodation. From a simple 2-person hiker's cabin to a luxurious glamping tent or a luxurious 6-person mobile home with air conditioning and 2 bathrooms. Even wheelchair-friendly and other adapted rental options can be found at this campsite. So you are spoiled for choice.

Recreation in the area;
Because the campsite is located on the edge of the Drents-Friese Wold National Park (one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands and part of the "Natura 2000" project), the Fochtelooerveen, the Aekingerzand and the meandering watercourses, there are several hiking trails - cycling and sailing possibilities. The natural diversity of this area consists of forests, sand drifts and green meadows along the waterways. With some grazing Scottish Highlanders and/or sheep here and there. And of course a variety of birds, insects and reptiles live in such an environment. So there is plenty to see for visitors (if you want to see it) and the question of which route to follow can certainly help the local tourist office make an interesting choice.

Friesland is indeed a very varied area. No matter how you go, there are route maps or signposted paths and roads for every mode of transport, from pedestrians to motorists and everything in between. Whether summer or winter, all seasons have their charms. And remember that the 11-city tour on the ice is still one of the largest Frisian events that is visited by many. Unfortunately it does not happen every year. However, the "skûtsjesilen" (is Intangible Heritage) and the Sneek Week are annual events that also attract many visitors (and therefore also camping guests).

Recreation at the campsite;
As written, De Roggeberg is a campsite for the whole family. The campsite offers all kinds of recreational options "in house". Various sports fields, mini golf, jeu de boules and tennis courts. There is something to do for every level and during the school holidays the youth are kept busy by an animation team.
