Camping De Wedze has 25 camping spots. The campsite is laid out in a park-like manner in a rural area. This is an ideal campsite for cycling enthusiasts, hikers and those seeking peace and quiet. At De Wedze campsite you can choose your own spot and stand as you wish, provided that you take your fellow campers into account.

Dark nights
The nights are still really dark here, so stargazers don't get to sleep! If you want to sit cozy and together in colder or rainier weather, this is possible in the covered lounge area. Here you will find chairs and a sofa that can be used by guests. The cupboard contains books, magazines and games, as well as lots of brochure material and walking and cycling routes.

There is WiFi throughout the site!

Beautiful environment
Camping De Wedze is located in the middle of a characteristic scenic landscape with a view of an old church tower from the 13th century. The village of Twijsel is located in Friesland on the Leeuwarden-Groningen line and can be reached within 15 minutes from the A7 (Drachten).

Twijsel is a small village near Buitenpost. It is located between Leeuwarden (21 km) and Groningen (35 km), both cities are therefore easily accessible. The beautiful city of Dokkum is also located nearby (17 km). The general facilities can be found in the surrounding villages such as Buitenpost, Kollum and Zwaagwesteinde.

With the electric sloop
The nature reserve “it Bûtenfjild”, near Veenwouden, is wonderful for walking and cycling, but this area can also be discovered by electric sloop that is offered for rent in and near this nature reserve.

Walking and cycling
The city walk in Leeuwarden is highly recommended. Upon arrival at the campsite you will receive a nice magazine with activities and events to visit that are worthwhile. Some walks are also described. There are many walking and cycling routes in the central area of the campsite.

Various shaded areas, covered bicycle shed with the possibility to charge the e-bike and also an outdoor kitchen with refrigerator and freezer.
