Rond uw camping zult u veel wijnbouw tegen komen, vooral de noordelijke hellingen staan vol met wijnstokken. Het oosten van Wallis ligt hoger en wordt de Goms genoemd. Kampeerliefhebbers komen hier voor de bergsport en het wandelen. Hier ontspringt de rivier de Rhône in de Rhônegletscher die eenvoudig vanaf de Furkapas te bezoeken is. Vroeger ging de “Glacier-Express” over de Furkapas, maar sinds de treintunnel van Oberwald naar Realp gereed is werd de spoorlijn over de Furka afgebroken. Nu is deze spoorverbinding door vrijwilligers weer aangelegd en sinds 2010 kunt u per stoomtrein weer over de Furkapas! Een aanrader voor treinliefhebbers!

Kampeert u op een camping in het westelijk deel, dan bent u in het Franstalige deel van Wallis en ervaart u de bekende Franse gemoedelijkheid. Dit deel van Wallis heeft vele zijdalen, ieder met een eigen karakter. Op de hoger gelegen plateaus vind u hier luxe vakantieressorts met prachtige winkelstraten en luxe hotels. Een voorbeeld hiervan is Crans-Montana dat zeer geliefd is bij de wintersporters onder ons. Kamperen in Wallis, je raakt niet uitgekeken.
