Cumberlands Campsite
Nieuw aangelegde camping op een historische plek in Fort Augustus, aan de zuidkant van het fameuze Loch Ness.
Newly built camp site on a historic site in Fort Augustus on the south side of the famous Loch Ness. Cumberland's Campsite is located 200m from the center of Fort Augustus next to and on the 12 ha site of Stravaigers Lodge (Hostel). The camp is named after the Duke of Cumberland, whose troops camped on that spot, after the battle at Culloden in 1746 against Bonnie Prince Charlie. The campsite has 30 touring places with electricity, of which about 20 have been paved with gravel. There is also a lot of space for tents. In the sanitary building 6 showers and 7 toilets are housed. With a 5 minute walk you are at Loch Ness, where cruises (also for fishing) can be made. Activities in the area include tennis, golf, hiking, fishing, canoeing and mountain biking.
