The Kiessee in Breitungen was created by a gravel excavation. This has created a beautiful nature area with a very luxurious campsite. This camp is led by an enthusiastic team from the German Red Cross. You will find a lovely sandy beach with sunbathing areas and particularly clear water. The campsite has spacious pitches and a separate dog area. In the middle of the camp site runs the Werra River, where you can make nice trips with (rental) canoes. Along the Werra the Werra Radweg runs a long-distance cycle route over reasonably flat terrain. On the east side of the valley lies the Thuringian Forest. An excellent hiking area for nature lovers.
