Maincamping Lichtenfels in the town of the same name is a well maintained and very friendly priced municipal site on the river de Main and the lake the Baggesee. The campsite is 4 km from the Autobahn (A 73) The campsite has its own jetty and boat ramp. The campsite is only 3 kilometers from the A73. At the reception you are welcomed friendly and jovial by the jovial manager. The campsite has pitches on grass. Because there is sandy soil and pebbles under this grass, the ground is almost always firm. Just along the Main, separated only from this river by beautiful tent fields, there are special hardened pitches for campers. At the lake one has fields for groups of tent campers. The lake also has its own jetty and is popular with anglers. The bathroom is good and modern and the rooms are heated. You even have rain showers. You can use the internet wirelessly in the recreation room. From the campsite you can easily reach the town Lichtenfels, with a nice center and shopping opportunities. Lichtenfels is the center of the wading of wicker baskets. Close by, on the same communal complex, an indoor swimming pool with a modern sauna and a spacious beach volleyball court. Trips are possible to Bamberg Kaiserdom, Coburg (fortress), Kronach, Kulmbach, Banz (pilgrim church and abbey), Staffelstein (thermal bath). Cycling routes are nearby. The campsite was recommended in the Camping & Caravan Champion (KCK, June 2011) in connection with the popular cycle route the Main Radweg.
