Camping Ankergrund is located near the interesting town of Volkach am Main in the Franken wine region in Bavaria. The campsite is 13 km from the A3 motorway, so is also suitable for traveling campers. The campsite is popular with water sports enthusiasts and has two boat ramps. The campsite has a varied range of grass pitches, on the Main or between birch trees. If you are lucky you will find lilac bushes and you can enjoy the wonderful smell! The cozy reception is combined with a shop and some camping equipment. Pay attention to the cozy terrace, a shelter in a huge wine barrel and a children's play corner at the terrace. There is a sports field including a soccer field, table tennis, beach volleyball. There is also a Boccia field, an Italian form of bocce. As of July 2012, there is a pleasant sandy beach with a sunbathing area behind it. The site has cable TV (also Dutch channels), supply and drainage for water and 16 A electricity at a significant number of places. The area is perfect for making bike rides with nicely landscaped cycle paths. In the vicinity an indoor playground, a playground in the forest, a leisure pool, a recreation park (Geiselwind).
