Camping-Club Rangau in Erlangen is managed by the local camping club and is owned by the municipality. Next to the campsite the municipal sports park. A well maintained site, which has both permanent and seasonal pitches, but also a larger number of tourist places. Both parts of the park are nicely separated from each other. The campsite is only 3 kilometers from Autobahn A3 and is therefore very suitable as a transit camp site. This is also being used extensively, especially by Dutch people. The camp site has good sanitary facilities and has a cozy Gaststätte with a terrace and friendly priced meals, including Greek and Czech, but also of the region. A part of the adjacent sports park can be used during high season days for temporary extension of the camp site or for groups. Camping Rangau has varying vegetation and has a file of old trees. There are also neatly paved pitches that are suitable for campers or preferable for your camping equipment on less sunny and wet days. The campsite is located on a small lake (Grosser Bischofsweiher, 400,000 m2 of water surface) where water sports are possible and a bit further along a sandy beach. On the campsite you will find play opportunities for children. In In 2012, a playground was created, with various wooden seels. In the neighborhood you can rent boats, go cycling and hiking, visit a bird sanctuary and there is a trim park. A special feature is that around Pentecost one has a special party, the Erlanger Kirchwei, which lasts about ten days. With music, dance, theater, plenty of things to strengthen the inner man. This festival attracts many visitors.
