Les Ripettes is a beautiful, flowered and quiet campsite on the southeastern edge of Burgundy, 20 minutes from the motorways. Between Dyon and Lyon and about 25 km. north of Macon, at 800 km. from Utrecht. This wine region of France, famous for the original Chardonnay and Beaujolais wines, is a beautiful area to visit. The rolling countryside of Bresse, with its wooden houses and characteristic Saracen chimneys and the flowered villages, is easy to reach from the campsite. A little further, but perfectly suitable for day trips, lies the Jura with deep wooded valleys and spectacular waterfalls and also the cities of Lyon and Dyon and even Geneva in Switzerland. Les Ripettes is also a comfortable place to interrupt the trip to and from Spain, Italy or the French Mediterranean places. Les Ripettes is surrounded by farmland and quiet roads in a rural setting, ideal for walks and bike rides. At 4 km. distance is the small market town of Pont de Vaux with a picturesque marina. In the city there are shops, supermarkets and there is a wide choice of excellent restaurants and bistros. There are 2 free swimming pools, a playground and sandpit for small children and a big place for ball games, badminton and table tennis and there is a jeu-de-boule court. Both the materials for the various games, as well as card games and books can be borrowed for free at the reception.
