Thirsk Racecourse CC site
Gunstig gelegen vlak terrein bij een marktstadje, met veel bezienswaardigheden in de directe omgeving.
Camping in Yorkshire on camping Thirsk Racecourse CC Site. This campsite is next to the horse racing track and is nicely flat. During the running the campers are parked in a separate place, but this is only a few times a year. The site is not far from the main stand and is a five minute walk from the old market town of Thirsk. The veterinary surgeon James Herriot also lived here and his old practice is now a museum. Opposite the campsite is a large supermarket. In short, an ideal place from which you can explore this part of Yorkshire. Just to name a few outings: Wensleydale Railway, Masham, lavender and herb farm in Wintringham, Rievaulx Abbey, Ryedale Folk Museum at Hutton-le-Hole, Beck Isle Museum at Pickering, Helmsley Castle.
