Strid Wood CC site
Prachtig terrein dat erg in trek is, reserveren is nodig, de camping is ondanks dat een oase van rust.
Camping in Yorkshire on camping Strid Wood CC Site. This campsite, part of the Bolton Abbey estate, is located in a clearing in the forest. It is also surrounded by forests and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Within the boundaries of the estate you will find about 120km of footpaths through the moors, forests and agragric area. The area is extensively painted by Turner and Landseer and touted by Wordsworth. It is grazed by sheep and the ruins of the 12th century Bolton Priory stand in a peaceful bend of the river Wharfe. The nearby Skipton, a historic town with cobbled streets and canal, has a weekly market, a well-preserved medieval fortress and is the starting point of one of the most beautiful train tours, the Settle to Carlisle line.
