From the sheltered campsite you have a panoramic view of the farm, forest and moorland on the North York Moors, among others known from the television series Heartbeat. This is also the Yorkshire that James Herriot loved so much. He worked in Thirsk and described the panorama of the nearby Sutton Bank as England's most beautiful view.
