Camping York Meadows
Terrein ligt niet te ver van York maar ook niet van andere bezienswaardigheden.
Camping in Yorkshire at York Meadows campsite. This campsite is open for the first time in the spring of 2012. The site is located amid farmland and is situated between the Howardian Hills and the Vale of York. The area asks to be discovered with 12 km the historic city of York and 5 km Castle Howard. The site is close to Sheriff Hutton with 2 pubs and village shops, which can be reached via a private road. It is a beautiful walking area with a network of footpaths. In fact, there is so much to see, that it is practically impossible to mention everything. Here is just a small list: Abbeys in Rievaulx, Byland, Fountains and Whitby; castles in Helmsley, Pickering, Richmond and Scarborough; beautiful country houses such as Howard Castle, Newby Hall, Nunnington Hall and Beningbrough Hall; cathedrals in York and Ripon; museums such as Ryedale Folk, James Herriot, Eden Camp; a ride with the steam train; with the kids to Flamingoland and Lightwater Valley and much more.
