Camping at campsites on the Costa de Prata

Camping at a campsite on the Costa de Prata can mean a camping holiday on the sunny coast. This coastal region runs from Espinho (just below Porto) to Ericeira (just above Lisbon). The Costa de Prata is a fascinating region with a lot of beach tourism and nice places along the coast. Campers who want to enjoy the beach can easily find a campsite to their liking on the coast. Along the coast are places such as Peniche, Nazaré, Figueira de Foz, Aveiro and Espinho, as well as a large number of smaller seaside resorts. If you are camping at a campsite near a larger city, you should definitely visit it. But the Costa de Prata also has an interesting hinterland with beautiful nature, full of Portuguese history. Further inland you come to one of the most beautiful mountain areas in Portugal, the Serra da Estrela. Here too, it is great camping in beautiful nature. The climate you will find at the campsites on the Costa de Prata is temperate, there is always a lot of wind and the water is cool. This will provide the necessary cooling at the campsite, so that you do not burn out of your tent or caravan.

Excursions from your campsite on the Costa de Prata

Various excursions can be made from your campsite on the Costa de Prata. This way you certainly won't be bored during your camping holiday. Nazaré was originally a fishing village, which can still be seen. Take a trip to this village and see how the fresh fish is traded. There is an extensive salt extraction area near Aveiro. More inland you will find the famous university city of Coimbra with the miniature park Portugal dos Pequenitos. You can also take a trip to the Quinta das Lagrimas (where Inês, the wife of (later) King Pedro I, was murdered on the orders of his father), the walled city of Óbidos, Alcobaça (where the sarcophagi of Pedro and Inês are located) or Leiria to make. The pilgrimage site of Fátima, Batalha with its impressive monastery/cathedral and Tomar with the Templar castle are also definitely worth a visit.
