Speaking of water, the Canal du Midi runs from Toulouse to Séte. The canal, which is 150 miles long, connects the Garonne to the Mediterranean and has more than a hundred locks. The canal is widely used for tourist shipping. The old paths along the canal are now a popular cycling route.

Mountain sports are also practiced in the higher mountains of the Pyrenees. Everyone knows the Tour de France stages through the mountains of the Pyrenees. You can follow this by bicycle or by car and once you have reached the top you can enjoy the beautiful views.
