Camping in a mountain area with many forests? Which can! At one of the campsites in the Jura . With its capital Lons le Saunier, it is a department in the East of France bordering Switzerland. The rugged low mountain range with its many forests (approximately 40%) consisting of beech, oak and fir, extends from France to across the border with Switzerland. But it can also be found in the beautiful half-timbered houses.
Lake area around Clairveaux-les-Lacs

Just north of there is the Lac de Chalain and to the south one of the largest lakes in France: Lake Vouglans with a length of 35 kilometers. The most famous waterfall in this region is the Cascade du Herisson, near the Lac de Chalain.
