Jachthaven/Camping Spijkerboor

Promo title

Watersportcamping in een typisch Hollands plaatsje met molens, in een polderachtige omgeving waar veel uitstapjes mogelijk zijn.

Jachthaven / Camping Spijkerboor, named after the nearby water ("Het Spijkerboor"), is located in the Zuidhollandse Warmond (former Oud-Ade). A very characteristic, typically Dutch town that was created around a church in the early 19th century. Narrow roads with drawbridges. Very atmospheric. From the marina you can sail directly to the open water of the Kagerplassen without having to pass locks or open bridges. Spijkerboor is a pronounced watersportcamping with a marina where berths are for boats of 4-12 meters. The camp site has the highest rating (gold) for the Green Key seal, proving that people are particularly committed to sustainability of the environment and nature. As a guest of the campsite, you have priority when renting a berth. The marina has a boat ramp for smaller boats (up to 400 kg) and a crane to launch larger boats up to 6 tonnes. Canoes are rented out. There are two official provincial swimming areas along the banks. Of this, the water is annually inspected and checked by the provincial government on a number of occasions! The reception, canteen ("De Spijkerbarg") and accommodation are housed in buildings of a former cheese farm. The cozy canteen is housed in an area that used to be a haystack, the residence / recreation room exudes a typical farm atmosphere and is housed in the former cow barn. The pitches are on grass and are well drained. The spacious pitches (100-120 m) are equipped with electricity (10A), water tap + connection and sewer. The sanitary building is modern and heated and is easily accessible. The campsite is car-free, but the distance from your campsite to the very large parking lot of your car is limited. The site has a relatively large number of permanent pitches and seasonal pitches, but the tourist part is neatly separated from it. With many places on the waterfront. It can be seen that the family has "green fingers" because of a gardener's background, because the vegetation has been carefully chosen and is well maintained. Around the campsite, both to the waterfront and to the typical Dutch polder landscape, you have an attractive view. The campsite rents a few summer houses and has plans to expand this considerably. There are plenty of opportunities for this. The campsite has internet on the cable for the fixed places, and wireless internet for the tourist sites. The area is ideal for all water sports and cycling. You can cycle around the Kagerplassen and the Braassemermeer. There are plenty of cycle paths on quiet, rural roads. Pay a visit to Kaag Dorp. For this you can go by a bike ferry (near the campsite), enjoy the picturesque Kaag Village and then cross with a larger ferry to complete your trip around the lake. Do not forget to do Rijpwetering, the place where our celebrated cyclist Joop sweet milk has his roots! The area lends itself to many trips. In the first place to nearby Leiden (historic city, many museums, cruises possible), The Hague, Scheveningen or Amsterdam. The friendly family will be happy to give you tips at the reception! If you are lucky, one of the owners will let you, as a camping guest, enjoy the way he, together with his dog the border collie Zosha, drives a flock of sheep!
