Camping Porto Covo is located on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Porto Covo on the Costa Dourada, below the water tower. The Costa Dourada is a coastal region of the Baixa Alentejo in Portugal. The campsite has an excellent restaurant and a nice swimming pool that is open during high season. The shop also opens its doors in the summer season. The village of Porto Covo has a pedestrian shopping street and center square with white houses with blue accents. Originally a real fishing village, Porto Covo has now become a cozy seaside resort with many fish restaurants and terraces. The fishing port is tucked between steep cliffs on the south side of the city, protected from the fierce waves of the Atlantic Ocean. In the vicinity are also small hidden beaches that lie in the lee and where you can safely enjoy the Atlantic Ocean. Besides the beach and the sea, the area also has a lot of culture and history to offer. You can make various excursions from the campsite. Lisbon is e.g. a 2-hour drive from the campsite. The area is very popular with sea fishermen and surfers and in the small sheltered bays is good swimming and sunbathing. Cycling and walking can be very good in this environment. With the establishment of a natural park, this coastal area is protected against overboss and the natural character is preserved.
