Favorite regions

The Veneto region is best known for the famous island city of Venice. The region borders Lake Garda to the west. It is a region full of culture, vineyards and picturesque villages. Veneto has 7 provinces, namely Belluno, Padova, Rovigo, Venice, Treviso, Verona and Vicenza. There is a rich history in the artistic, cultural and gastronomic fields. An area with beautiful campsites and every camper can find their favorite campsite here. From nice small campsites to child-friendly top campsites. And did you know that the popular sparkling wine Prosecco comes from Veneto?

Province of Verona

Lake Garda is located in the province of Verona, the southeast side. Most of the luxury campsites of Lake Garda and campsites with water slides are mainly located in this province. The largest city, Verona, is famous for its bullring and Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. “O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?”. This legendary balcony can be visited in Verona. There is an atmospheric medieval city center with a castle, museums and the bullring. The arena is located on Piazza Bra where you can enjoy a delicious local drink in the sun, such as Prosecco or Aperol Spritz.

Lake Garda

Do you feel like swimming, sailing, surfing, boating, water skiing or diving? It is all possible at Lago di Garda. The nice campsites are often located on the lake! The Veneto region offers plenty of sporting activities and you can enjoy cycling and walking. A well-known town on Lake Garda is Peschiera del Garda with a historic center. Enjoy a cozy terrace on Viale Cordigero, a car-free road that runs along the canal, one of the nicest places to eat. You can also taste wine in Bardolino, this place is known for the red wine of the same name. The area around this place is full of beautiful olive groves and vines. (LINK LAKE GARDA)

Picturesque towns and villages

belluno
The province and town of the same name Belluno in the north of Veneto lies below the peaks of the Dolomites. Belluno is a good starting point for a visit to the Dolomites where you can enjoy (mountain) hiking or cycling. Enjoy the beautiful views, mountain landscapes, lakes and enchanting mountain villages. In this province you will mainly find small-scale, green and quiet campsites. Also visit the city of Belluno, with Venetian-style palaces, parks and squares where you can drown in space. Recommended!

Student city Padova
This city with a cozy city center and colorful frescoes is definitely worth a visit. Visit the oldest botanical garden in the world, the Basilica di Sant'Antonio. This gem is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city is known for its markets, every square has one. A dream for true gourmets. Small snacks or dishes are for sale everywhere, from the display case in a bar, on the market or from food trucks.

Venice
This city needs no introduction, everyone dreams of a romantic visit to Venice with an idyllic gondola ride. Venice is located on a group of 118 small islands, separated by canals and connected by more than 400 bridges and small bridges. Meander through the streets and canals of historic Venice. The most beautiful pictures are taken from the Rialto Bridge over the Grand Canal. Take the cheap version of the gondola, a Traghetto. That is actually just the bus, so public transport. Slightly less luxurious than a gondola, but much cheaper and also great for sailing past all those palazzi!

Treviso
The former fishing village of Treviso is also known as 'Little Venice'. You immediately see why: the old canals, beautiful bridges, picturesque streets and colorful fishermen's houses. However, you walk around much quieter here than in the original. The center of Treviso is small with medieval gates and narrow cobbled winding streets. It's also a real cycling city, so tip: rent a locally made Pinarello bike (popular with cycling enthusiasts), to explore the city!

City of Vicenza - Unesco World Heritage
A beautiful and slightly lesser known city in the region is Vicenza. Thanks to the brilliant and revolutionary architect Andrea Palladio, Vicenza acquired a classical Roman appearance in the sixteenth century, which is still visible today. Very famous is his Villa Rotonda. It's not in the city, but: He designed 23 of the city's buildings in classical Roman architecture, including the Palazzo Barbaran da Porto. Vicenza is therefore on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Island village of Burano
The traditional island village of Burano is located on one of the islands in the bay near Venice. The picturesque canals and bridges show the Venetian style well. Very Instagrammable! The brightly colored houses stand out beautifully against the blue-green water of the canal. The Calle Galuppi is the main street of the island and here you will find glass blowers and lace shops. Visit the lace museum 'Museo del Merletto' in the Piazza.

Day Trips and Activities in Venice

Strada del Prosecco, where you can find the best proseccos.
The Strada del Prosecco or 'Prosecco Road' is a route between the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene and winds through hills full of vines. These prosecco hills in the Veneto region are beautiful and are even on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Follow this route to the vineyards, viewpoints, picturesque villages, castles and do not forget to taste prosecco. Cheers!

Lido di Jesolo
A well-known seaside resort on the Adriatic coast is Lido di Jesolo. Here you will find 5-star campsites and many more luxury campsites, often with a water park. Great location because the campsites are close to Venice, Padua and Treviso. In this seaside resort you will find beaches with fine white sand, beach chairs with umbrellas and cozy beach bars. In Lido di Jesolo you will find pleasant boulevards with bars and discos.

Nature in Venice

Parco delle Cascate di Molina
In the natural park 'Parco delle Cascate di Molina', near Molina north of Verona, you can walk along beautiful waterfalls. There are three short hiking trails in the park up to 4 kilometers. Also visit the prehistoric cave. In the village of Molina you can discover the water mill 'Mulino dei Veraghi'.

Brent de l'Art
In the village of Valbelluna, in the province of Belluno, you will find Brent de l'Art. A natural rock formation that resembles a canyon. A narrow and deep gorge with steep carved walls that were created by millions of years of erosion by water. You can view the Brent de l'Art via a hiking trail and in summer local alpine guides organize canyoning trips.

Volcanic Hill Group Colli Euganei
Colli Euganei or the Euganese Hills is a volcanic hill group southwest of the city of Padova. A beautiful regional park for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. A region with beautiful rolling hills and forests with an old castle on almost every mountain top. The hills of the Colli Euganei have arisen from past volcanic activity and now contain hot springs with spas, such as Abano Terme.

Po Delta National Park
The Natural Park of the Po Delta, World Heritage of Unesco, is a national park on the Adriatic coast. It offers a combination of beaches, lagoons, forests, dunes, islands and peninsulas. You can spot beautiful deer and flamingos here and it is definitely recommended for nature lovers and bird watchers in particular.
