Camping Golden Beach is a municipal site located on the east side of the island of Thassos. From Thassos town (Limenas) it is about 15 km along the coastal road. up to the village of Panagia. Turn off towards Chrisi Ammoudia. From here indicated. The way down is very steep and with many hairpin bends. If you drive a caravan, it might be better to choose to drive to the next village, Scala Potamia, then left to the coast and then along the flat coast road back to Chrisi Ammoudia. The campsite is narrow and lies directly on a beautiful sandy beach. That means that everyone is close to the beach. Most places have good shade from the many trees. The quality of the beach and sea is expressed by the fluttering of the "blue flag", also known to us. The sea is calm and safe for the little ones. From 15/6 to 15/9 there is a lifeguard on the beach. A cool drink can always be in the beach bar. In two natural stone buildings there are large cold rooms for all guests to use. Still feel like freshwater? With a free ticket from the campsite there is access to the swimming pool of the adjacent hotel. The reception and a number of other buildings have been renovated, the whole makes a good impression. Distributed over the campsite are sanitary blocks. WIFI and Internet is free. Golden Beach has no restaurant. All kinds of water sports are possible. Basketball, volleyball and tennis are also possible. Cycling is a very good option because a large coastal strip is almost flat with little traffic. Organizing group camping is a specialty of this campsite. There are a large number of rental tents and very separate, round, wooden log cabins on wheels divided over the campsite. The site is in a quiet location in the middle of the village and there are shops and taverns. The village is nice, the Scala Potimia further away you should visit. On foot 15 min. Very touristy but cozy with a harbor, a large choice of restaurants and various lounche clubs. Konstantinos, the young manager of the campsite, has studied in the Netherlands and speaks and understands a lot of Dutch.
