Kasteel Pompadour
Bezoek vanaf de campings in Corrèze één van de vele kastelen. Dit zijn de grote trekpleisters van deze streek. Denk daarbij eens aan het kasteel Pompadour. Dit gebouwencomplex werd beroemd door Lodewijk XV. Hij heeft het kasteel nagelaten aan zijn maîtresse. Het gebouw werd tijdens de Revolutie grondig verwoest en alleen de portierswoning, voorgevel en getorende buitenmuren zijn nog origineel. Lodewijk XV organiseerde ook de stoeterij, waardoor het gebied een centrum werd voor de paardenfokkerij en voor de ruitersport. Deze bestaan uit twee ondergrondse gangenstelsels met prachtige kalkgordijnen in diverse kleuren. De grotten hebben kalkbogen versierde gewelven, tal van stalactieten en zuilen in de meest fascinerende varianten. Speciaal voor kinderen zijn er filmvoorstellingen met een ontdekkingsreis door de grotten en over het leven van de vleermuizen die hier in grote getale voorkomen.
