Camping Sodankylä Nilimella is laid out on a flat terrain. The large village Sodankylä is a central municipality with shops, cafes and many cars. In the center is a beautiful image of a Lap with a reindeer on the lasso. Behind this statue stands the low wooden Lappen Church from 1689 between the trees. It is the oldest in Lapland. The walls are of unpainted wood and the roof of wood shavings. In the interior everything is made of wood: the altar, the benches, the communion bench and the pulpit.
