The farm on which the campsite is located already existed in Saxon times and is mentioned in the Domesday Book and the origin of the Hall dates from 1604. With modern facilities, the campsite can accommodate a limited number of tourists. If the weather is a bit disappointing then a recreation room is available. Traditionally, Boroughbridge is a popular overnight stop for travelers. Today, a network of waterways and nearby lakes provides sufficient opportunities for sailing and fishing. Close by is the stately Newby Hall which is worth seeing, but for the children there is an adventure playground. You can also sail here on the river Ure.
