This rural campsite is a great stopover on the way to the Highlands and has a good connection with the city of Edinburgh. Linwater Caravan Park is a quiet and welcoming family site in an open rural area about 10 km west of Edinburgh. For caravans, campers and tents 60 - powered - pitches are available, both flat grass pitches and paved areas for the longer stay. For campers without a tent, there are a few modern cabins for rent per night for up to 4 people. The Scandinavian-style sanitary building has heating and provides a sufficient number of toilets, hot showers and lockable wash cubicles. There is a playground for young children. You can use the internet for free using your own laptop. On a holiday in Scotland, a visit to the capital with its many attractions is a matter of course. Edinburgh is easily accessible from Linwater camp site. In the neighborhood there are 2 transferia where you can park your car or camper free and safely to be driven by bus to the center of the city. A special attraction nearby is the Falkirk Wheel, where boats d.m.v. a revolving wheel is lifted from a higher to a lower (and vice versa) fairway. East Calder at 3 km is good for daily groceries. In Livingston, at 8 km, there are supermarkets and an indoor shopping center. The campsite has a herb garden, which the campers can also use.
