Camping Municipal Quinta da Agueira is the municipal site of Mogadouro. Mogadouro is a regional administrative center in the Trás-os- Montes, the north-east of Portugal. The campsite is located on the outskirts of Mogadouro next to a sports complex with a beautiful swimming pool between, on one side the mountains and on the other side a castle ruin. Nice spacious toilet block with low sinks for children and excellent facilities for the disabled. The campsite is beautifully laid out and is well maintained. Beautiful grassy flat pitches with a beautiful view. The place Mogadouro is within walking distance. The region is sparsely populated and offers a wealth of nature and historic sites. In the region discoveries were made from prehistoric times, from the Iron Age and from the Middle Ages. The valleys of the Douro and Rio Sabor are beautiful nature areas with steep slopes planted with olive trees and forests. You can easily spot vultures. In this region you will see a brown cow breed with large curved horns, the Mirandesa. Many traditional houses are built of granite. The local tourist office has a wealth of information that will keep you entertained for a longer period of time in the region. There is also a small museum where prehistoric and Roman finds are shown.
