The Spanish province of Valencia is the ideal destination to enjoy the sun all year round. Choose a campsite in the Valencia region that suits your needs and you are guaranteed to have a great time. Are you taking the kids with you? Then you have a choice of dozens of family campsites and sun, sea and beach will undoubtedly play the leading role during your stay on the Spanish coast. If you are looking for a small(er) camping site, then you are in the right place, you will find them especially in the interior. Due to the presence of the city of Valencia, you can easily combine your camping holiday with a city trip.

Endless beaches, forests and nature parks

The region of Valencia offers 23,255 km2 of beautiful and diverse landscape. From the Mediterranean coastline to huge mountain ranges inland, there's something for everyone here.

Leave the campsite in Valencia to enjoy endless beaches, nature and hidden rivers, salt basins, forests and deep canyons. In the region of Valencia there are more than twenty natural parks and three protected marine reserves with Mediterranean flora and fauna. Ideal for walking and/or cycling.

Numerous seaside resorts, including Benidorm and Torrevieja

Did you know that in the province of Valencia you can enjoy sun and beach all year round? Due to the mild climate, it is also a good place to stay on the Spanish coast in winter. You can relax on the beach of Benidorm, but along the coast you will also find countless small(er) fishing villages. Have you ever been to Torrevieja? Over the years, this former fishing village has grown into a pleasant seaside resort with about 20 km of sandy beach. But Moraira, Calpe and Denia also each have a lovely beach and cozy restaurants.

Visit Alicante and Valencia

When you camp in the Valencia region, you really have to visit Alicante or Valencia.

Alicante

Alicante is the capital of the province of Alicante located on the Mediterranean Sea, and from the Castillo de Santa Barbara you have a beautiful view over the city and the harbor. Nearby is the Explanada de España, a wide pedestrian promenade with countless palm trees, cozy shops and restaurants. It is always pleasantly busy.

At the end of the day, the city dwellers get together to discuss the day or have a nice chat. Did you know that Alicante also has a 900 meter long sandy beach?

Valencia

Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and has numerous places of interest. The most striking building is the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències, which houses the largest aquarium in Europe, among other things.

The old center of the city with stately buildings and the bustling town square 'PlazaAyuntamiento' is also worth a visit. You will find typical Spanish restaurants here where they serve real Valencian paella. What you should definitely try is a 'Horchata', this is a drink made from almonds, water and sugar. Cheers!

Celebrations and traditions

Celebrating a holiday is of course a big party in itself. A stay at the campsite in Valencia, however, is accompanied by an even bigger party. There is a good chance that you can celebrate a local party with the residents. More than 600 folk festivals are celebrated in the Region of Valencia every year, these are typical street parties to which everyone is welcome, of which Las Fallas is the best known.

During your stay at the campsite in Valencia you probably eat a lot of fish, because the local cuisine revolves around. The most famous dish in which fish and shellfish are used is paella. Taste this dish at least once during your holiday, but you will probably visit a paella restaurant again the next day when you have finished your first plate. Because a good paella leaves you wanting more.

Who says Valencia, says orange. And let that be the main ingredient of the local drink, Agua de Valencia. What do you get when it orders? Your glass is filled with a mix of orange juice, cava and Cointreau.

Do you have a sweet tooth? Then sink your teeth – carefully – into a chunk of turrón, a kind of nougat made from almond, honey and sugar.
