“Standing with a tent or caravan on the campsite, that's the ultimate camping” say the so-called real campers.

But that has changed a bit in recent years. Recently rental accommodation at camping sites has undergone enormous development. It used to be a simple large caravan with a kitchenette and if you were lucky, a toilet on board. Nowadays they are almost all luxury bungalows with all the trimmings. With the luxury of home, such as a dishwasher, combination microwave, large fridge with freezer, air conditioning and the 'wet' room often with a walk-in shower and / or bath.

Everything from comfortable to super-deluxe tents, mobile homes, pods, CocoSweets, hikers' cabins, lodges, glampings, safari tents, chalets, and so on.

Campingnavigator has already listed a number of beautiful Accommodation Campsites in Europe for your convenience.

To reserve

Tip: Do you want to reserve the intended rental accommodation in time. That prevents disappointments.

The luxury of rental accommodation

When leaving home, convenience serves people. Suitcase with clothes and towels in the trunk, children in the back seat with airpods in the ears and tablet on your lap ... Bicycles on the back of the bicycle rack. (Or shall we just rent them at the campsite?) And drive to sunny places, mountains, the sea, the forest or heathland in our own country. The holiday starts when you leave home. Delicious ........

Bungalow

A small house that only has a ground floor. There is actually no need for contact between the different bungalows and that often makes it a bit more impersonal.

Apartment

An apartment is a house in a larger one-storey building. Also called maisonette

Mobil home / mobile home

A mobile home is quite large and therefore offers a more luxurious accommodation with different rooms. The toilet is a lot more comfortable than in a regular caravan and you can also have a separate bedroom in a mobile home. There is also more space for cooking and more seating. Because mobile homes usually remain in a fixed location, they are often also connected to gas, water and electricity.

Sleeping barrel / wine barrel / pod / Finkotta

The specific wine barrel shape gives the whole a nice appearance. The beautiful wooden finish inside and atmospheric lighting provide a pleasant feeling. It is a kind of wooden hiker's hut, usually insulated against sound, light and temperature. You can see a stay in the barrel as a camping holiday, without having to bring your own tent.

They are usually not provided with bed linen, you bring your own sleeping bag or duvet, pillows and sheets. The facilities are usually very simple and consist of beds, light, electricity, heating and a balcony set (table and 2 benches)

Hiker's cabin / log cabin

A hiker's cabin is usually a small wooden accommodation on a campsite or bungalow park or in the wild. In most cases the furnishings are primitive and for a limited number of people. There is a kitchenette, a table with four chairs and two bunk beds.

Tipi tent

For those who want to go camping, but prefer not to do so in the usual way, opt for a tipi tent! The tent was traditionally used as the home of the Indians in the United States and Canada, but nowadays they appear on more and more campsites in the Netherlands and abroad as an original place to stay. The cone-shaped tents offer an ideal stay for the whole family and even the entire family, but at the same time they are also suitable for those looking for a romantic destination for two. The tipi tent is hot!

Coco Sweet tent

Is a mix of a tent and a small mobile home, beautiful in shape, comfortable and suitable for 4 people. A glitzy tent with the perfect combination of real camping and that little bit of extra luxury.

The tent (18 m²) has 1 sleeping cabin and a sitting area with 2 sofa beds. The kitchen unit is complete, has 1 hob, fridge and microwave.

Safari tents

A safari tent or Serengeti tent (named after the region of northern Tanzania and southern Kenya, where the safari tents first appeared) is a tent that was used as a shelter for hunters on safari (literal translation: "on a journey") went to hunt big game.

Today, such tents are rented out in the various African game parks. For some years now, the safari tent has been on the rise as a form of glamping ("glamorous camping"), luxurious camping in a spacious tent with the interior of a hotel room. Other names for the safari tent are also safari lodge tent and villa tent.

Luxury glamping

A camping holiday where the accommodation is ready for you. Delicious right? With glamping you sleep in the middle of nature, but with the luxury of home. This is exactly how glamping originated at the beginning of the last century. Glamping originates from South Africa. Rich explorers traveled from America and Europe to Africato conduct research into special animal species. They were often away from home for months and therefore stayed in luxury canvas tents (safari tents). In this way they did not have to miss out on the luxury and comfort of home.
