De Hoge Kempen National Park, ideal for an active camping holiday

Limburg is the greenest province of Flanders and nature is very important there. The area is perfect for hiking and cycling. The most important nature reserve in Limburg is the Hoge Kempen National Park. A cycle route network and about 300 km of hiking trails take you right through this area, which is no less than 5700 hectares in size. Nice, there is even a barefoot path!

Visit the marl caves

Not only does nature around the campsites in Limburg offer the necessary sights, there is also plenty to see underground. The region has several marl caves and these are definitely worth a visit. The most famous marl caves are those of Riemst-Kanne and further south, Vechmaal and Zichen-Zussen-Bolder. Did you know that some caves, or rather marl layers, extend all the way into northern France?

Day trip Hasselt

The capital of Belgian Limburg is the city of Hasselt. Visit the largest Japanese garden in Europe, the city park or the National Jenever Museum here. Oh, and don't forget to walk past the Borrelmanneke, this is a statue that symbolizes the jenever industry. You can end a pleasant day in Hasselt at one of the terraces on the Grote Markt, the central square in the city.
